The course is taught as a module in the Advanced Modeling, automation & optimization in COMSOL Multiphysics course and can also be included in a custom program.

Course overview

COMSOL Multiphysics has a wide range of physical interfaces in different areas of electromagnetics, structural mechanics, chemistry and fluid flow.

The user also has the option of defining custom physical interfaces that exactly meet the needs of a specific discipline. The Physics Builder is available for this purpose.

With this tool, students can use their equations to build new physics interfaces, which can later be included in multiphysics models or shared with colleagues.

The course describes the general use of Physics Builder as a graphical programming environment for designing custom physics interfaces using an interactive desktop and without coding.

Core tools covered include custom interface design, names and expressions, coordinate systems, selections, Physics Builder Manager, Physics Builder tools and examples of construction and use.
