Dr. Rubén Picó Vila has taught the Acoustics course in the MUCOM master’s program. He offered a brief session, approximately half an hour long, on the propagation of acoustic waves in thermoviscous media. He explained the physical peculiarities of systems with viscous losses and thermal conductivity, along with various computational alternatives for solving such problems. Additionally, he addressed the most relevant aspects for the correct modeling and acoustic simulation in compressible Newtonian fluids with losses. At the end of the presentation, he demonstrated the construction and analysis of a perforated panel model as an example.
