Eduardo González

Director of Development, Structural Mechanics

COMSOL AB, Sweden

Bachelor of Science and Electrical Civil Engineer from the University of Chile, Master in Scientific Computing from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) of Sweden, and PhD in Physics from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität of Munich, Germany. He is currently Director of Development of the Structural Mechanics section at COMSOL AB, Sweden.

Teaching

Eduardo González has been assistant professor and undergraduate thesis supervisor at the University of Chile. He regularly presents the numerical capabilities of COMSOL Multiphysics at multiple conferences, courses and webinars.

Research

Before joining COMSOL in 2009, he worked at the Max-Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, in Garching (Germany), where he participated in the PK3-Plus project, a low-temperature plasma experiment on the International Space Station.

He also worked at the research center of the Norwegian energy company Statoil (now Equinor), developing geophysical methods for hydrocarbon prospecting.

Numerical Simulation and COMSOL Multiphysics

In his long tenure at COMSOL AB, Sweden, since 2009, previously as Product Manager and currently as Director of Development, he has led numerous projects in various disciplines, such as acoustics, fluid dynamics, electromagnetism, structural mechanics, mass transport, and heat transfer.
